  • The Folkestone Community's priorities align with the project's focus: We have identified that health and food poverty are two of our community's greatest concerns, with 73% wanting to improve their health and wellbeing.

    
    

  • There is a strong desire for more inclusive, community-focused decision-making. 

    
    

  • Have Your Say, Folkestone! addresses these issues and put them in front of people who have the power to make systemic and local change to the food poverty crisis.

    
    

    We are looking for financial support but also community members throughout the south east who have experiences of food poverty to be participants and audience members.

More Information about the Project:

Starting in January 2027, The Folkestone Performing Arts Company (FPAC) will use creative storytelling to engage with people in our local community who experience food poverty, many of whom frequently go without a hot, healthy meal, with the resulting food insecurity having a significant negative impact on their mental health and overall wellbeing.

Entitled Have Your Say, Folkestone!, these stories will be brought to a wide and passionate audience of community members, councilors, stakeholders and decision-makers. Through interactive participation, audience members will become part of the conversation, exploring potential solutions and helping to shape more effective responses to food poverty in our community.
