Continuing into our third year, the Community Theatre sessions are growing. Like the Writing for Performance group, the CT group meets regularly and gets anyone who has an interest in acting, acting. We get up on our feet and onto the stage at each session. Bring in your favourite scripts, something you have written, or something you might enjoy reading out – we also have a wonderful library of scripts to choose. Each term, we plan to have an end of term sharing for the wider community to enjoy the work we have created. We’ve performed as part of the annual ‘Living Advent Calendar’ event and at the FPAC AGM.
One of FPAC’s core values is accessible training opportunities. Training in drama skills such as voice, character & text analysis, and playwrighting are offered alongside ‘soft’ skills such as verbal and non-verbal communication, empathy, teamwork, fitness, well-being and self-confidence. We also look to combat social isolation through these regular creative social gatherings. The FPAC CT group is a place where you can have a cuppa and a natter with friends and enjoy the freedom of being silly for a couple of hours.

With support from local councillors, the FPAC Community Theatre sessions have secured funding for another term. With their generous help, we have been able to pay the facilitator and for the space at the Sunflower House. FPAC’s CT sessions have reached out to over 100 locals who have an interest in making theatre in a supportive environment. Being creative and expressive in a supportive environment is key to the success of our work and we are so grateful for the local support of our efforts.
