The Blinds Are In: FPAC & Sunflower House is getting a theatre space!

Writer's picture: Matthew HahnMatthew Hahn

As noted in an early blog, we have recently been the recipients of Kent County Council funding to help purchase blackout blinds and lights to create a flexible theatre space at the Sunflower House.

And I am pleased to say that the blinds are in! [I have yet to see them, but promise pictures as soon as I can get them (though they just will be of blinds which underwhelming represents an overwhelming opportunity for FPAC & SFH)].

This will allow all three strands of FPAC – the Ensemble, The Community Theatre Group & the Write for Performance Group opportunities to create new & exciting local work within our home at the Sunflower House.

We intend to have termly acting showcases with the CT actors, premiers of new writing from the WfP writers and openings of new shows devised by the Ensemble such as The Leech of Folkstone.

The Sunflower House flexible theatre space will be unique to Folkestone and the southeast of Kent – this space will be a low cost / low risk opportunity for FPAC theatre-makers to try out new material and devise new work.

We are looking for a named sponsor for the theatre space who would be interested in sponsoring FPAC in return for naming rights.  As a space sponsor, you can be proud to know that your contribution will be supporting the growth of Folkestone’s only producing theatre company.
